Jessica Kerher - Co-Owner & Event Planner
Jessica has a passion for helping other people. She realized at a very young age that she loved caring for and attending to other peoples needs. Jessica began planning events while in high school. While in college, Jessica was a part of 3 boards in which she handled the events for fundraising. After college, Jessica worked for a national magazine where she dove into the world of fashion shows. Jessica has entrepreneurship in her blood and quickly realized that she would make a great owner of an event planning company. Serendipitous Events is one of her many passions. She loves everything from creating concepts to designing tables. Jessica has her hands, eyes, and ears involved in every single event that Serendipitous is planning.
Jessica is madly in love with her husband, Nathan who is a chiropractor at the Ortman clinic. Together they have three children, Nash the sweetest and kindest first born, who is five years old, a wild three year old named Nellie and the baby of the family, Nixon who is full of smiles. Jessica and Nathan live in Canistota, SD just outside of Sioux Falls. They enjoy time spent with family, browsing downtown Sioux Falls, health, fitness, camping, traveling, fishing and quick getaways.

Loghin Welch - Co-Owner & Event Planner
Loghin has been with Serendipitous for 5 years, she joined Jessica as a partner of Serendipiotus Events in September of 2018. She was born and raised in Sioux Falls and is an O'Gorman High School graduate. Loghin has a passion for planning and designing beautiful weddings and private events. Along with planning weddings and private events, Loghin works with our corporate clients to plan business meetings, fundraisers and even marketing material. When she isn't working at Serendipitous, Loghin is an Estitician at The Factory in Downtown SF. Loghin also owns an online clothing store, Elysian Outfitter. While she isn't working, Loghin enjoys meeting new people, traveling, going to concerts, watching football and having a good time with her family and friends! Loghin is a dog mom to an adorable mini goldendoodle, Lola, who is her best friend!

Rebecca Carlyle- Event Planner
Rebecca Bickerstaff was born & raised in Rock Rapids, Iowa where she graduated high school from Central Lyon in 2015. In high school Rebecca learned very quickly that she was a planner & a leader. Rebecca was the captain of the wrestling cheer squad, captain of the flag core, took on key roles in planning prom events, & was also on the National Honor Society.
In January of 2017 Rebecca married Christian Carlyle. While planning for her own wedding planning as a whole was something that she took interest in quickly! Rebecca has always admired the atmosphere of weddings & loved attending bridal shows. She took classes through Weston Distance Learning & obtained her certificate in Wedding & Event Management. Along with her certificate she also assisted with local reputable businesses for weddings during the 2017 season. She also became an ordained officiant online.
Rebecca & Chris live in Rock Rapids, Iowa where they have two puppies, Daisy & Duke. Rebecca works as a CNA & med aide at the Health Centre, where she has a passion for taking care of others, along with event planning at Serendipitous. In their free time together they enjoy going to country concerts, taking quick getaways, walking their puppies, baking, remodeling their home.

Event Planning & Marketing Internship
Are you looking for the opportunity to learn from the Local Best Event Planner's in the area? If so, this is for you!
Since Serendipitous Events was launched in 2008, we have successfully designed and implemented over 500 events. While that number speaks volumes in itself, we pride ourselves in working with the best couples and clients in the area. Although weddings are our jam, we excel in private and corporate events as well.
While being an intern, our owner, Jessica, will guide you and teach you about the event planning business. You will have the opportunity to help manage and execute events of different styles and size with our planner, Rebecca and our lead planner, Loghin. Our interns will work hands-on with our team to create and manage our social media.
Our 2018 event interns will work along side our planners and clients to bring our client's dreams to life. Applicants must be willing to dedicate and commit to weekend and night work. A strong social media background is a must. Knowledge of Google Drive and WordPress is preferred.
Salary & Hours:
Our internship is non-paid. However, interns are able to use this program for college credit. We require work-from-home hours as well as office hours. Bi-weekly team brainstorming meetings will also be scheduled.
